Works great for PS4 and is easy to do if you follow instructions well!
Works perfectly, fits the PS4 console perfectly, and was easy to install PS4 software.
For those of you who have had trouble getting this to work with your PS4, you must follow the instructions on the Sony website exactly. Here is what I did:
1. Use a usb flash drive that has at least 4GB of space. Check its properties to make sure it is formatted in FAT32. Create a folder named "PS4" in all caps and without the quotes. Inside of that folder create another folder named "UPDATE" in all caps, and without the quotes. On an internet connected computer go online to playstation.com/en-us/support/system-updates/ps4/ and go to the very bottom of the page where it says "Perform a New Installation of the System Software" and click the black "download now" button. The file should be over 800MB in size. If it is smaller, you are downloading the wrong update. Check again that you are using the link at the bottom of the page. If you have the right file, save it to the flash drive in the UPDATE folder you created inside of the PS4 folder and make sure to name the update file ""PS4UPDATE.PUP" in all caps and without the quotes.
2.Plug the USB drive into your PS4 and go to (Settings) > [Application Saved Data Management] > [Saved Data on USB Storage Device] and save all of your backup files that you wish to save or save it all to the cloud if you have Playstation+.
3. Once this is saved turn off your PS4, and unplug all cables.
4. Remove the left side cover of the PS4 above the disc drive by applying slight pressure and sliding it to your left. It will come off relatively easy. Then, using a small phillips head screwdriver, remove the screw on the front left which will have playstation symbols on it. Slide the hard drive out, then remove the two screws on each side of the hard drive sled. There will be four total. Do not remove the small rubber rings where the screws go in. Slide the hard drive out, then place the new hard drive into place firmly but gently.
5. Replace all screws, then slide the hard drive back into place in the console.
6. Replace the cover of the PS4.
7. Plug everything back in, then plug in the USB flash drive. You must also plug in your controller via USB.
8. Hold down the power button for about 7 seconds until you hear the second beep then let go. This will start your PS4 in safe mode. Select [Initialize PS4 (Reinstall System Software)].
Your PS4 will take a few minutes to install everything, after which you can do all of your settings as shown on the screen. Once this is done, re-install your games using the game discs or re-download your games if you bought a digital copy from the PS Store. Once your games are reinstalled you can then go back to (Settings) > [Application Saved Data Management] > [Saved Data on USB Storage Device] and save your data back to the PS4, which will restore all of your game settings, profiles, saved games, etc.
That's it! Hope this helps!
