My dad bought one of these at AAFES. I played around with it and had to get one myself. I'm a professional photographer, but there are some places where one does not or cannot lug thousands of dollars worth of equipment. This picks that role up perfectly. The zoom is smooth. The camera focuses quickly. It has a DSLR-level amount of options, while still being easy to use. It's light and seems to be pretty tough. Worth every penny. This is a great buy for birders, too, which is what my dad originally bought his for. It's also senior-friendly, with its simple controls and easy-to-read display.
