Love the pockets and canvas lining!!!
It got 5 stars bc this item was truly packaged with TLC. The amount of thought and love that went into this product is admirable.
Before I launch into my review, keep in mind the price point. Most leather bags of this size would easily run $150+ at the mall. If you read Komal’s description, this is most definitely a fair price with all things considered.
Leather quality: I believe the description says it’s goat leather. It’s definitely thinner than cow leather so I’m not sure how longevity will play out. The main worry I have at this time is whether or not the contact points on the sides for the straps will hold out. I’m worried about it ripping on the sides since I tend to carry a metal water bottle with me frequently and this adds to the weight load. As far as the texture and such, I don’t notice any issues. Again, there is discoloration but this is to be expected since it’s real leather and not the fancy Italian leather.
Stitching: My least favorite feature of the bag. The design and workmanship of the stitching is fine and dandy. The stitches are even and straight. However, the actual thread quality used seems to be a bit on the thin side. Not sure how the stitching will hold up to daily use.
Buckles/Zippers: All the buckles were independently wrapped to prevent scratching. This is much appreciated. The straps for the two small pockets could use another 3 hole punch, but minor flaw. The zippers work smoothly and have no issues getting caught or stuck. There are two zippered pockets on the inside and one on the outside on the back.
Canvas lining: The canvas used to line the bag is of thick quality. I personally prefer this kind of lining since it’s more rugged and can handle everyday wear and tear. Some people may not like how rough it feels, but I think it’ll last longer. It’s not military grade canvas so don’t get too happy now.
Interior pockets: My favorite feature of the bag. Each sidewall has one zippered pouch and one open pouch. So a total of two zippered and two opened pouches. Then right in the middle is the main compartment. These pockets will come in handy to prevent electronic devices from getting scratched up by keys or other misc. objects. You can fit a 13” laptop, a tablet, and phone all in SEPARATE pouches!!! (However, do keep in mind a weight limit on the bad bc of thinner leather.)
Conclusion: With all things considered, this is a great buy at current price point. Just understand the quality of the leather is NOT cow leather therefore won’t be as thick and sturdy. The pockets galore, buckles/zippers, and thick canvas lining is well crafted enough that I would consider buying the same item again. If you truly want a heavy duty leather bag, you’ll need to fork out a good $200 for cow leather. Just my observation.
