Ok, Transmitter
when I bought my new house, the garage door opener came with a couple of transmitters. Both had the housing beaten up, so I decided to look for a new transmitter. I found this as a "direct replacement" for my transmitter so I bought it.
When it arrived I configured the Dip switches to the code on the opener. It worked, but only 5 feet apart from the opener, making it useless as I couldn't even open the door from outside the garage from anywhere. I took it to the office and measured both with an spectrum analyzer. This was setup to transmit at 300MHZ, and my old transmitter at 310MHz it was opening from close to the opener because of the passband filter in the opener is too wide. There is variable inductor that you can adjust so you can pull the frequency a few tens of MHz. Past this, the output power is pretty good to open the garage door half a block away.
I added a picture of the inside with the inductor that you have to adjust in case your frequency is a bit offset.
