Some of the older reviews complain of the short USB power cord but the newer versions have longer cords that reach from a standard nightstand to the floor. This unit is much better than the previous one we had. The images are much more in focus and can be changed if desired. I hope the internals last a long time. The gears sound a little stressed when the unit is rotating. Maybe it will loosen up over time. It does make a little noise but our little one sleeps with a white noise machine so it’s a non issue. You will need a USB cube or a wall outlet with a built in USB port to operate or use batteries. We aren’t using batteries so I can’t comment on battery life.
