I purchased this for my 14.5 year old black lab who has arthritis in his hips pretty badly. Other than his arthritis, he is extremely healthy (we were just at the vet for an annual and a thorough blood panel etc). My dog is not only elderly, he is also huge. He used to be 92 lbs in his top physical condition, but I've brought him down to 84 lbs so that is easier on his arthritis. Mind you, it's a thin 84 lbs -- you can see his waist and feel his ribs when you pet him. He is also really tall. I call him my mutant lab. :-) As far as prescriptions, he's on rimadyl and gabapentin. While he seems to have no pain, and is pretty active for an old guy, getting up from lying down was getting harder and harder for him and he was falling over a lot while standing. I have tried a lot of different "supplements" for him and mostly everything was the type of snake oil I expected, and resulted in no change in my dog's mobility. Frankly, I ordered this thinking I would get the same non-result. Thus, I didn't expect to write a review so soon. I expected to go through an entire month's supply before I gave my opinion. He's been on it for about 2.5 weeks and we have already noticed that he isn't falling over while standing or walking. I seriously cannot remember when I saw him fall last. He is MUCH more steady on his feet. Nothing else in his routine has changed. I am considering taking him for more/longer walks now because I think he can handle it. I plan to update this review once we go through more of the product, but I just wanted to let other people know that this stuff seems to actually help. I am happy to have found it and I am interested to see if my dog will have any more improvement in the next couple of weeks. Even if he has no more improvement, I am going to call this a success solely because he now has much improved mobility and no falling over.
