First Time Caulking
Im a newbie when it comes to home improvement and I wasnt sure how to caulk my tub but I watched youtube videos and thought I could figure it out.
Heres what I did:
--I scraped off all the old caulk with a utility knife/scraper that I bought in amazon (This was veryt time consuming took about 2 hours because I had multiple levels of caulk)
--I added painters blue tape to create a line so that after caulking I would just remove the blue tape without an issue (Similar to when you are painting the wall and you add the painters blue tape to the ceiling so that you dont paint the ceiling)
--I then proceeded to use this Polyseamseal Tub and tile. No gun needed. Just open and squeeze.
--I used my wet finger to press down to make sure it is completely in
--Immediately after using my wet finger I removed the blue painters tape
--I watied 72 hours until dry.
--I then applied the Sashco sealeants Clear Lexel adhesive caulk (It is clear and i bought in amazon) I added this because I wanted an extra level of protection. This is clear and you cannot see the mess at all so i didnt use the painters blue tape.
--I waited another 72 hours.
This all worked out beautifully and now my tub has perfectly white edges all around. It has held up very well. I did this about 4 months ago.
