Surprisingly good, but some things to be aware of
In the past I have had issues with other headsets, especially Logitech. They make great keyboards, joysticks, mice, controllers, and keypads, but audio devices is something I have always been disappointed with. I have, for years now, always had Creative headsets. Since they quit making the Tactic3D Omega, which was and still is one of the best gaming headsets ever made if you can find one, things have not gone quite so well in their wireless headset department. The Tactic3D Rage came out as its "replacement". The sound quality was there, but the build quality was garbage. I had 2 of the headsets break on me in the last 18 months, both snapping at the twist point for the right ear. Since Creative doesn't offer another wireless gaming headset at the moment, I decided to give Logitech another look after all these years to see what's improved. I looked at a number of headsets, even their more expensive ones, but people were all pointing back to this ~$80 headset. Well, the last Logitech headset I bought for $98 almost 5 years ago was garbage (Logitech G35). It was so bad I returned it and got a refund. This time though, I decided to try again and got the G533. I am amazed at how much Logitech headsets have improved over the last 5 years. It sounds so nice, the surround is so clear, and the headset is very comfortable to wear over long periods of gaming. I'm so happy with my purchase this time... for now. No product is perfect, and this is no exception. I find the volume dial on the headset to be a little too easy to turn, making slight adjustments sometimes difficult. The part that worries me most and the Creative headsets still have Logitech beat: Logitech's adjustable bands are plastic, Creative's Tactic3D series were metal. Overall, I am still happy with these over the Rage, but I think they could have a few things done better.
