I don't know why people complain about instant ink. I stopped buying home printers long ago because I don't print everyday, could be weeks between printing; The cost of ink is ridiculous. But $5 a month is a great deal. When I registered for Instant Ink, HP gave me a total of 5 free months/300 pages a month. You could print all full color photos, doesn't matter if it's color or just black. HP sent my first replacement cartridges within a week of enrolling. I haven't needed those yet (I will soon), but I am prepared. So much cheaper than buying cartridges. Perhaps if you print all the time, this might not be for you. But for normal home use, and photos, this is a great deal. $60 a year ($5 a month) pays for itself with one set of cartridges. Netflix for ink :)
