I live in a converted, historic barn, and have trouble with mice. I did it all - bought traps, sprayed peppermint, lined my drawers with lemon, sprinkled used cat litter - nothing deterred the mice. This device works like a charm. Within a week, there were no droppings, signs of mouse urine, or chewed wrappings in my trash. It also deterred the spiders and silverfish. My elderly cat (who was not earning her keep at catching the mice) was not bothered by the device in the slightest. I have recommended this product to my friends, and will buy more. Fantastic product.
