My son had trouble sleeping in his arms reach cosleeper, so we ended up having him in bed with us which made us a little uneasy. This bassinet style cosleeper allowed me to have him in bed, but protected in his own space. I found that the best way to maximize our bed space (queen size) was to push this sleeper next to the arms reach which is fastened to the bed. This way I could still sleep next to my husband and share blankets without fearing that they were riding up over the sleeper, as would be the case if you positioned it in the middle of the bed. If you do this, you just need to make sure your bed is pushed up against the wall, or that you have another barrier to prevent the sleeper from fallling off the bed. This sleeper has a metal frame that is well padded and has mesh sides. The frameless portion in the middle allows you to place baby down gently without your arms being blocked by the frame - a small but very useful detail. At seven weeks, he now tolerates sleeping in his arms reach, but only if I have this bassinet inside of it. I think because it's a smaller shape, he feels more comfortable. The sleeper collapses in half and travels well in a suitcase. It's also useful for transferring your sleeping baby to another room without disturbing him. We regularly bring our son from the bedroom into the living room while he is sleeping in this. Great purchase. Don't pay the extra $30 for another brand that has pockets or a canopy, you won't need it! Definitely the best purchase we have made. Next best is the bouncer that allows me to shower while he entertains himself!
