Great Product.
Price was decent, it was shipped promptly and it was packaged as all appliances should be.
After doing extensive research on numerous undercounter icemakers, I went with the EdgeStar. All brands had the same pros and cons for the most part. Being a plumbing contractor myself and having installed TONS of icemaker kits, I did not use the plastic tubing that came with the kit because the compression fittings often leak and the chance of kinking whenever the unit is moved it always a worry. Installed a copper tubing line with an external single stage water filter. Haven't noticed any loud compressor noises as stated by other reviewers yet but I will say that purchasing the extended warranty is a must.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone but stress that you spend the extra time and money in installing it properly. Install it level and on a solid surface because I've notice what other confuse for loud compressor noises might just be vibration. Install an external filter to protect the internal coil of your icemaker from clogs or sediment build up. Definitely go with copper tubing to ensure more solid compression connections and please leave slack. Lastly, try not to completely enclose this icemaker where it barely gets fresh air. Coming from a contractors perspective, don't choose vanity over utility unless money is no object to you.
Good Shopping and hope this review helps you decide when shopping.
