My wife and I purchased a rural house and the well water was harder than the Grinch's heart. We looked at getting a water softener but decided against it because of the salt issue. When reading about the Yarna descaler, the first thought way "yeah, right", but the reviews convinced us to try it. It started working the first day! We noticed a marked difference in the water; especially with the lime scale that was building up. An added plus was the ease of installation. When it comes to installing stuff, I generally can't find my rear end with both hands, but the Yarna was a snap. You can't go wrong on this one!
