Works a promised BUT you have to WHITE Primer FIRST!
So I thought it would be helpful to identify my pelican cases with IDs that would glow in the dark… So I read some of the reviews for glow in paint. I decided to try the glow paint in the jar. So I ordered a custom Stencil from stencilrevolution.com and used the Ultra Glow paint. In order for the Ultra Glow Paint to glow really well you have to put it on thick! The thicker the better. The Ultra grow does work and glow BUT if you are a beginner painter like myself it is hard to make the letters look smooth because my brush left brush streaks. Also because I had to put it on thick, when I tried to remove the Stencil some of the paint on the letters came with it… So back to the researching something else I could use. I stayed away from the spray paints earlier because of all the bad and mixed reviews. Since the jar of paint did not work as I wanted, I figured I would try the Glow in the dark spray paint… I purchased a can of Rust-Oleum Glow in the Dark MAX and followed the directions… The MOST important thing to do use (like the directions suggest) is spray a layer of WHITE primer on the object or area being painted with the glow spray paint FIRST!!! So I figured I would use the same case (Case -01-) to compare the two products. Using the spray instead of the jar of glow in the dark paint allow me to get a more uniform crisper look for my letters than using the jar of paint. BUT remember I am just a person with no paint experience… Anyway using the stencil and the can of spray paint from Rust-Oleum gave me a much more even finish! Please see attached photos… Unfortunately, I need to do a better job of masking off the area because as you can see in the photo I have some over spray on case -01-. AGAIN the main important thing is to use WHITE primer for the first layer then follow with the glow in the dark spray. If you don’t use a primer it will not glow bright at all. So my recommendation is to go with the Spray paint for a beginner if you smooth uniform glow… Anyway I hope someone finds this helpful… PS the photo with the case in the backyard was taken from about 20 to 30 feet...
