So I have a health background and learned to identify what a typically healthy ear drum would look like. I bought this because I have three kids and it just makes me feel better, empowers me, to be able to see if my child has inflammation in there. If there is I can bring them in to the dr. I feel helpless when I don’t know what is causing my child’s discomfort. However, like I said- I KNOW what a healthy ear looks like because I’ve studied it in college. I’m not a doctor and I would NEVER go prodding in there had I seen something irregular. This instrument simply gives me a sense of control and I can use the information I get from it to talk to my pediatrician.
