I have been canning all my life and this year I finally wore out my old well-loved steam canner. What 'cha gonna do? Call Amazon, where I found this really great steam canner. There was one slight problem though. Whomever is in charge of putting the thermometer knob on the top is not quite getting them seated correctly. I sent the first one back and as usual, Amazon was quick to be helpful. My UPS driver arrived with a replacement and a shipping label to return the first one. Today I opened the second one and discovered the same issue. I decided to investigate before I sent the canner back. Using the larger of two Phillips screw drivers, I unscrewed the knob, reseated all the parts and reassembled. Perfect fix. All the pieces fit together perfectly. Since the screw is aluminum, you will strip both the Phillips head and the threads if you are not careful. Be sure the screw driver is the correct size and make certain you don't cross thread the screw when you reassemble. Tighten screw only enough to snug things together. Do not over-tighten. I highly recommend this well made canner. My old one did not have handles on the sides of the water reservoir or on the lid. This one has both. The handles on the water reservoir are insulated and the knob on top stays cool enough to handle as well. The top knob also contains a feature new to me, a thermometer that tells you when to start timing according to your geographical elevation. This takes the guesswork out of trying to gauge a steady whisper of steam. The rack that hold the jars is also well designed and well constructed. Nicely done Victorio Kitchen Products!
