SCABIES BE GONE!
-We received this product in 4 days.
-It was smaller than what I expected but I didn't look that it was only 8oz but trust me this is all you need. You won't even use half the bottle if you use it correctly on everything/everyone.
We recently had one person in our family get SCABIESSSSS. YUCK is all I have to say. I have done tons of research on products to cure this so no-one else in our family has to endure this nasty hellish little bug/parasite (whatever you want to call it). Prepare to do A LOT of cleaning.
If you or someone in your family has Scabies you really need to go to a doctor and get the 5% Permethrin Cream. They will most likely prescribe you 2 tubes of cream total. You do 1 treatment (follow all directions exactly) and a week later you do the other treatment. The reason they are so far apart is because you are trying to kill the adult's first and you have to wait a week to kill the devil babies that hatch.
I have been extra paranoid when it comes to this because I don't want to get it and I don't want my kids to get it.... Im going to list a few items that I have researched and have used for our family. So far my husband is the only one that got it/has it.
-Tall Kitchen draw string trash bags: I bought at least 6 boxes 45 count. Every time my husband takes a shower I make him put his clothes in a trash bag and I immediately put them in the dryer.
-Arm n Hammer Detergent with Oxi Clean: For all the clothes being washed this is the best brand I have found and cheaper than most.
-Dryer Sheets: You are going to be using the dryer A LOT and by a lot I mean mine is going 24/7. Every morning I dry the sheets, pillow cases and the sheets that are covering the couch immediately after use.
-Borax: I sprayed this all over the house to clean with and use it the bath water at night.
-Bleach: Religiously cleaned with this and borax every surface of our house.
-Hydrogen Peroxide: Used this in the bath soaks at night.
-A&Hammer baking soda: Use this, borax, every night you take a bath.
-A&Hammer Odor Eliminator (Pet Fresh Carpet Cleaner): I used this because I like the smell and it masked the nasty smell left behind from the mix I sprayed on everything.
-Martins Permethrin 10% Indoor & Outdoor: We purchased this to spray our bed, car, carpets and furniture and my husband is using it with a lotion for in between treatments. We also mixed tea tree oil & Peppermint Oil.
-Empty Spray Bottle: To use to mix the Martins, Tea Tree Oil & Peppermint Oil.
-Tea Tree Oil & Peppermint Oil: We put this in all our shampoo's, conditioner's, body soap and I mixed it in our Landry.
-Sulfar Soap & Ointment: This has helped clear up the scabies infestation and there has been no new outbreaks be prepared for the smell though! I mixed the ointment with a good lotion and made them spread it over the entire body.
-Aloe Vera Gel: After baths rub this on everyones body head to toe.
-Dishwashing Gloves & Disposable hand gloves: I bought a pair for everyone in the house....call me paranoid but I wasn't touching those sheets with my bare hands.
- Lysol Disinfectant Wipes: Extra insurance for my sanity. I rub everything down that has been touched by the infected person.
- Chlorine: I bought this to put in the bath to clean it extra.....what can I say I'm PARANOID. Ive heard/read of the horror stories.
-Good working vacuum: The Vacuum has been my best friend. Every morning after I ball the sheets/pillow cases up and I throw them in the dryer I spray the mattress with the martins/tea tree oil and peppermint mix, wait for it to dry and vacuum everything up. Tip: When emptying out the vacuum cleaner take it outside and make sure you are pointing it down wind.
-Plastic Pillow Covers & Plastic Bed Covers: You will most defiantly want these for peace of mind/sanity. Plus they are super easy to clean.
We are on a tight budget in my household so I researched heavily before I purchased anything that was needed.
Good Luck everyone and I wouldn't wish this misery on my worst enemy. If you have any questions feel free to ask!
