Great suction, useful attachments, easy to clean.
This vacuum is excellent, except for a few things. Rating 4.5 out of 5. SUCTION: The suction is excellent. The vacuum picked up dirt from carpets that looked clean and were vacuumed using an older vacuum. I was worried about one thing. Where the dust can connects to the unit, the suction tube of the canister is exposed, but it is closed when it sits tight against the rubber piece of the suction tube of the unit. I was worried there would be suction loss, but there is nearly very little to no air escaping. I'll keep an eye on this as it is a good test over time to determine any suction loss. There is also a washable foam filter included that cleans outgoing air. EMPTYING: It's easy to empty the dirt canister. Press the grey button under the BISSELL logo on the front to release the dirt can, and then the button at the bottom to drop the dirt collection. Simple to clear. If you vacuum weekly, the canister is big enough for an entire session. INSTALL: The vacuum is easy to put together. Lock the vacuum upright and push down on the handle when putting in the screws. The screws should go in about 80% before needing a screwdriver. Instead of using the quick-start guide, use the ASSEMBLY instructions which includes a Product View Diagram that shows where everything connects. The handle is all plastic, and while it has texture to provide some grip, it lacks a complete grip feeling. The handle also seems thinner than the older BISSELL handle I'm use to which fit perfectly in my hands. CORD: The included cord is 25 feet long, with 24 feet usable length. The cord auto-rewinds inside the housing by depressing the retract button. It comes out smoothly and rewins smoothly. No issues there. The cord is near the bottom of the vacuum, probably 75% down. DIMENSIONS: The vacuum is 45" tall from base to handle, about 14" wide, and 12" deep. HEIGHT: There are five settings for the height (high carpet, low carpet, and bare floor, along with two in-betweens). The height didn't work for me when the vacuum was upright. I had to press the handle release pedal to tilt the handle back, and then adjust the level. On my 7-year old Bissell, the level adjust was so smooth. And there were more levels. But with the level adjust on here, it is sometimes difficult to adjust and requires extra force. The instruction manual does state that the level adjust may be difficult and it needs to be tilted back. ACCESSORIES: These are the included attachments: TurboBrush Tool - This tool is about 5 inches wide, and it has a rotating brush with short bristles on the inside of the plastic housing. The brush spins and is great for cleaning carpets, upholstery, curtains. Anything that has dirt that requires the power of the spinning brush. This is designed similar to how the bristles on the bottom of the vacuum are. This is the only accessory with a closed design. In the third picture, it is located at the top near the handle. Dusting Brush - This tool much smaller than the TurboBrush. It is a brush with long bristles, without any moving parts. This is useful for any dusting where you will need to apply your own pressure, and for deep down dirt that requires extra scrubbing. In the third picture, it is located at the center, right under the top of the hose. Crevice Tool - This is a thin, flat tool, useful for getting dust from crown molding, edges, etc. Anywhere where the round hose cannot fit, this should be able to get dust out. Even useful for cleaning out fan blades for small fans. In the third picture, this is the light gray piece that is inside the extension tube. It is almost the same length (9 inches) as the extension tube. It comes out of the extension tube, and the piece currently sticking out, goes into the extension tube. Extension Wand - This is a long, hard plastic tube (about 12") that allows you to extend the regular hose. You can use it along with any of the three accessories above.
