We just had our first child and this is an excellent monitor. Packaging is excellent and set up was very easy. Please remember to update the software as soon as you set the system up. You may have to call in to MIKU to update the software, but, that was very easy to do. Nighttime vision is excellent and the respiratory rate tracking system is accurate. I've actually timed our son's respiratory rate and compared it to what the monitor was reading and it works very well. I've read a couple of other reviews on the amazon site where there were complaints of it not connecting to the networks properly - we had the same issue at first, but, I realized that the MIKU only needed to have the software update installed. As soon as the software update was complete, this monitor worked seamlessly. We got the separate stand for the MIKU monitor instead of attaching it to the wall. This way, we could actually move the monitor from room to room, upstairs and downstairs, etc... for when the baby is taking a nap in the crib vs the bassinet or in the play swing for newborns. This option is extremely helpful for when you put the baby down for a nap but don't want to move him/her for fear of waking them up. Otherwise, excellent product and would definitely recommend it. It is pricey, but, gives me the peace of mind at night (being a first-time dad) that my son is breathing throughout the entire night. I've heard of many horror stories of infants who stop breathing during their sleep (SIDS) and this helps alleviate my fears. I also heard that this baby monitor has already saved a few baby's lives by alerting the parents when their child was having difficulty breathing at night. I can't put a price tag on that kind of protection.
