I'm really not sure of what's going on with this item. I really liked the one I had on my previous kindle, very solid product. After placing my paperwhite in it it caused the screen to go in the wallpaper/standby mode. Start button wont function, after freaking out for a second I moved it slightly upwards and the device started again just fine. I think the magnet on the rim that keeps it closed (although a vary nice feature on the other one i use with a standard non touch Kindle) here causes some kind of malfunction. I really hope there is a solution, this item has a great price/quality ratio but this issue makes it worthless. EDIT: The manufacturer contacted me and promptly sent me a replacement that now works perfect. The magnets are in a different position and they cause the Paperwhite to go to sleep automatically only when you close the cover which I assume saves battery. It turns back on when the lid is opened which is really nice. Product is really unexpensive and delivers what it is supposed to deliver. I guess the whole issue came from Paperwhite being so new they sent me the Kindle Touch version instead. Changing review to 5*
