I really WANT to give it 5 stars...
I have long-ish but stick-straight lashes. The only way they would hold ANY curl from a curler was if I used waterproof mascara. But using waterproof mascara and going to town with a heated curler 5 days a week (not to mention the pain of removing said waterproof mascara) is a lot of work and all the *trauma* made my lashes fall out in clumps sometimes.
I love and will continue to use this product!! Now I can just swipe on some regular mascara in the morning and that's all my lashes need!!
That said... I almost gave up on my first try because I got so frustrated, so let me shed some insight!
1. Do one eye at a time your first time using this product. Trust me.
2. Fold/bend the silicone pads before applying them. They are almost flat coming out of the package - by bending them you can make them rounder and more anatomically-correct so they fit snugly along your lash-line. Trim if necessary.
3. When applying the silicone pads, hold them against your lash-line for at LEAST 3 minutes. If the glue underneath is not totally dry when you let go, they will probably start unattaching.
4. When applying the glue to adhere your lashes, use a spoolie brush to separate and sweep them up and then press your lashes to the silicone pad with your fingers. Use plenty of glue but apply in layers, allowing to dry (don't glob it on).
5. After your lashes are glued, apply a last coat of glue on top for good measure. Wait until the glue is COMPLETELY dry before applying the first lotion. I started applying it right away when the glue was still a little tacky and about a third of my lashes came off the pad and I had to start over...
6. DO NOT DOUBLE-DIP. If you used a swab to apply a lotion, throw it away! Do not dip it back into the bottle! If you mix these products together they will expire and lose their effectiveness. It says this on the box, but I definitely want to emphasize this point! It would be sad if you payed the money for this kit and only got one use out of it.
I *learned* all these things working on my first eye, so doing the second eye wasn't quite so challenging. In total it took me like a couple hours to do it all, but it was my first time using anything like this. Next time I don't think it should take so long.
Definitely recommend this product for ladies with straight lashes!
UPDATE #1: My first application of this product gave me awesome results... But weeks later when I did a "touch up" to address the new growth, it did not go well. The lashes that had already been permed got that much more curled and some of the new "virgin" lashes hardly took at all, leaving me with some lashes curled way back to my lid and others that were almost totally straight. Still determined to make this product work though!
UPDATE #2: I've been using this product about every 6 weeks since I purchased it last spring. I resolved most of my problems with the product. If using the product on all "virgin" lashes, you can let it process longer (I did the full 15 minutes for my first application). When I use it to "touch up" every 6 weeks or so, I let it process a few minutes less (about 10-12 minutes). I don't use it any more frequently than every 6 weeks, or I don't get as good results (see update #1). Also, now that I'm more familiar with it, it takes me only about an hour or so to use. At the rate I've been using it, I expect that one package could last about a year!
