We've had this mat for around three months and here's my experience. CATS: We have two cats and I was concerned about ending up with a giant scratching pad because our cats will use almost anything that way. I'm happy to say that they have no interest in this mat. They seem to dislike the material - I've never seen them sit on it let alone claw it, and they usually are everywhere we are. SIZE AND USE: We put this mat down on our hardwood floor and our baby rolls around playing with toys, or we lie on it next to him or sit with him and read. Once our baby started rolling over, the little play gym mat we had was too small and this mat has a generous size - perfect for once they start rolling. CLEANING: I clean the mat with a damp cloth or with a gentle all-purpose wipe from Dabble. I got some pureed sweet potato on it and it took a few times to get the color out of the little indents but I think it's all gone now. STORAGE: The mat comes with two velcro straps to roll the mat up. It doesn't store that small but it's still a good system. CUSTOMER SERVICE: We lost the velcro straps and when I asked the company if I could order more they wrote back right away that they would send us more straps for free. They also continued to update me about shipping the straps. That was so nice of them! LONGEVITY: I just recently noticed two tiny new scratches in the material - like a slit maybe 3mm long and a shorter one somewhere else. I don't know if this is from a cat claw, or a baby nail or what. This is the only damage after 3 months of using it every day and my husband lies on it with his keys in his pocket and stuff. I'm hoping we won't see more of these. Considering the size of this mat, these little scratches are negligible. LOOKS: This mat has a classier design than a lot of products on the market. I've gotten compliments on it. That being said, I wish the design was more of a repeating pattern. It actually seems randomized. I remember as a child enjoying looking at patterns and thinking about how they repeated. Still, this was the best looking mat for the price on the market and I don't regret our decision.
