I bought this knife as a birthday gift for my girlfriend, who loves to cook. She's also really into knives, and she knows about all the different steel and forging techniques, so she can really appreciate a nice knife like this. It's a beautiful piece, although I wish the damascus pattern was a little more dramatic. Despite that, it does look great, and boy oh boy does it cut! I wish I'd have made a video of her reaction the first time using it, because it was pretty dramatic. She has an old Henckels, which to be fair does need sharpening, but comparing them side-by-side was fun. She diced up a raw potato with zero effort. The blade just "fell" through the potato, no effort required. Needless to say, she's VERY happy with the gift, and I'll probably be adding more knives from this company to her cooking collection soon.
