Excellent book for those who live in the city or a large metropolitan area
You are probably thinking, " not another prepper book". I thought the same thing but the difference was the title " When SHTF in SUBURIA. I've seen very little on what to do if you don't have a bug out shelter/cabin that you can escape too. Most people live in cities and this is the book that you should use as a reference. You don't need a book on how to trap wild animals if you live in Tampa, NY or any other metropolitan area. You don't need to know how to make a shelter out of bushes and dirt if your in the city. Those are the topics in traditional survival books. You need to survive in your metropolitan area. Although some of the topics are basic that you know and have read, I did find that his "must have lists" are based on real life and what you can get or possibly have. Again this is where this book is so beneficial to those who do not have access to what someone in the country would have. Not many preppers live in the cities and everybook you read tells you what to pack. That is pretty senseless as every state and community is different. This book gives you a more realistic and reasonable list and asks the really big question that others don't ask, "where are you going"? Makes you wonder why other books don't ask that question. Many people will not have an opportunity to leave their suburban or city home, especially if a EMP occurs. This is where this book excels. When an electronic storm hits, not many people in Boston (or other cities) who's car is disabled will have a farm tractor or 1957 Ford in their condo garage. So what do you do? This books section "Essential Security" answers that question. These people really need to know what to do when your security and safety is at risk. Establishing a perimeter is of course a must-do and very few people will know what to do when they live in a condo, apartment, or subdivisions where homes are next to each other. This book gives excellent points on how to survive in your neighborhood. Most people don't know when it's time to go into survival mode. Author Ted Riley gives you information that will be valuable to know when an event is occurring that might put your area in a state of emergency. The chapter on hygiene was very interesting. Here was one chapter I learned a lot. I had no idea all the things you could do with essential oils. A must read! I found this book to be very informative and those who don't live in the woods in a cabin should seriously consider the purchase of this book. I live in a remote area and much of the book doesn't apply to me but there were so many interested points that were brought up, it made me think about my situation. I do recommend this book. It was written well and very informative. I was given an advanced copy of this book and I have no reason but to be honest and fair in my review. I owe the author Mr Riley nothing for a free book therefore my review is as it is written.
