I get it, shocking your dog is bad and you should feel bad about it. We got threatened by our neighbors because my 1 y.o. boxer barked at obnoxious times (4 am, 6am on sundays). I got this collar after getting the citronella spray one (that did not work). This collar works good for what it is. I tried on my own neck and got to the third shocking level. I did not feel pain, just the annoying shock. After using it for a few months, I think my dog has only been zapped 3 times in total (he is a fast learner). I only use it when he is being really loud, put it on his neck and he never barks with it. I recommend not leaving this on overnight nor for more than 6 continuous hours. Pros -Stops your dog from barking -One size fits all (maybe not good for ultra small dogs) -Once he learns that if the collar is on, barking is not ok. He never barks when the collar is on, shocked for a total of 3 times in 3 months -My dog actually understood that barking just for attention outside playtime is not something we want him doing -Waterproof -It has improved my relationship between me, my dog and my neighbors Cons -You are zapping your dog -The batteries are proprietary from PetSafe, you cannot go to any store and get the batteries
