Easy to pick up and start drawing
I've wanted a tablet for several years now while struggling to draw digitally with only a mouse. I heard good things about Wacom and decided to get the medium size of this tablet. Notes: -The active area size is smaller than the overall tablet size (8.5x5.3in for medium), so be sure to research the size you want. -The loop at the top does hold the pen, but you have to insert the side of the pen opposite the nib; the nib end will not fit. -The tablet maps the screen exactly, so you won't end up drawing off of the tablet's surface. -It doesn't pick up on my hand when I rest it on the surface, so that's nice. -3 pen nibs are included inside the back panel (in addition to the one already in the pen), and there's a nib removal tool on the back as well. Pros: -Very easy to install the driver for Mac. An installation CD is included but the driver can be downloaded online if you don't have a CD/DVD drive on your computer. -Works great with Clip Studio Paint! It's difficult drawing on art programs without having a tablet, but now I can draw natural lines without the shakiness of a mouse. It's wonderful being able to finally use pen pressure. -Smooth drawing surface and very thin and light compared to my friend's Intuos5 medium. -I thought it might be difficult to draw with the disconnect between drawing on a tablet and looking at the screen, but it's surprisingly easy to get used to it. -The back panel has descriptions for everything (spare pen nibs, USB cable plug) engraved in the surface, which is convenient and looks really friendly :D Cons: -The back cover was very difficult to open and took a lot more force to pry open than I was comfortable with. But once that was off, I couldn't get the cover back on! There are 5 notches in the back that line up with little nubs on the cover, probably to secure the cover, but one nub on the side will not go into its notch no matter how hard I press and another nub partially broke as well (see pictures). I'll probably have to break off the first nub and just tape the cover on. This problem with the cover design are why I'm rating 4 stars.
