So when I got this filter , I thought wow this is loud and annoying but does its job. Well, its not loud if you read the instructions right. If you dont know what that is, Google it. The impeller at the end of the tube that goes into the water has to be pulled off and placed in the small hole in the filter. Once that is in correctly, its very very quiet. I almost returned it!!! It's the simplest fix and now it doesnt make ANY NOISE. and my tank is spotless! I wish instructions were more clear on the impeller part as this wouldn't have so many complaints on the noise!
