My teeth are clean. My sink is a mess, but my teeth are very clean.
I really hate flossing: it hurts, my gums bleed (no matter how often I floss, so much for the "your gums will adjust" line), and the floss gets stuck between my teeth. A hygienist recommended a water flosser, since they're more effective than string floss anyway. I did a bunch of research before dropping my $40. My main concern was that many models of flosser accumulate mold/mildew. I wanted something I could clean fairly easily and something that could dry out in between uses. This style of flosser is the only one I found on the market so far where the water reservoir can be removed, and it has a large enough opening to get in there to clean it. After pulling off the reservoir, I clear the water from the tube by holding the 'on' button for a couple seconds, until the water stops shooting out. Hopefully this will prevent slime from growing inside the unit.
As for the teeth? I'm annoyed and pleased that it does indeed work far better than string floss. Annoyed because it is SO messy to use (lean over your tub/shower to do this. Seriously.), and it requires more maintenance/overhead than plain old string floss. That's why I give the product 4 stars: these drawbacks are inherent to all water-shooting-in-your-mouth devices. I wouldn't give any of them 5 stars. I use the 'soft' setting, and find it to be a little harsh, but not unbearable. And not as irritating as regular flossing. Also I have crazy sensitive teeth, so you might not mind it at all. But overall, I'm glad that it does work, my teeth have that high-def feel I get after a dental cleaning, and hopefully this means fewer cavities because holy crap do I hate dental work. Flossing is like voting: not doing it because I'm in favor of what I'm doing, I'm just trying to prevent something worse from happening. --___--
I've had this for a week. If any new sh|t comes to light, I'll update this review. Keep your teeth clean and good luck.
