Great! I usually use a desk top PC, but recently acquired a new lap top, which I hadn't had in years. I failed to notice that it did not have a CD/DVD drive, so I went about searching for an external. I don't use CDs too often, and DVDs only once in awhile, but I still have a need for my computer to be able to play them- especially a laptop (traveling, etc). They seem to be all similarly priced. I went through many product descriptions looking for one that would seem to do the job I needed it for and work with my HP laptop. My laptop has a 2.0 and a 3.1 USB port, so when I saw that this was compatible with both, I went with it. I also liked that they had an option other than black. I would loved to have had a more fun color, something that makes it stand out a bit from all my other electronics, but at least they have white as an option. I thought I would add some colorful and fun decals stickers to it, and the white background would make it pop out a bit. Super easy to use. I just plugged it in and tried out both a CD and a DVD, and both worked fine. I LOVE that the USB cable tucks into a spot underneath when not in use. The cord is short (8"-9" roughly), and is attached, but is perfect for a laptop. It's slim profile makes it easy to fit anywhere. I have an old CD holder case to store it in if I want to. Perfect. So far so good, if anything changes I will be back to update. Hope this helped! Take care :)
