Need Convincing?
I've used Maple Holistic's "Silk 18 Conditioner" for years and love it. So I was excited to give this set a try. If you are reading reviews and are debating about this set, let me do my best to address your concerns.
If you are concerned about the:
1. Size vs. price of the bottles: I have really long, thick hair and have struggled in the past with the amount of product it requires each time I wash it. This shampoo and conditioner is highly concentrated and only requires about a quarter sized amount of product to wash my hair. (See pics) Since I only wash my hair once a week, these bottles will last me about 8 months. That is actually a pretty good value if you look at it like that. If you're hair is shorter than mine, yours will probably last much longer.
2. Ingredients: (From the photos and NOT the website) Aqua, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Lauroamphoacetate, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Sodium Lauryl Glucoside Carboxylate, Lauryl Glucoside, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Acrylates Copolymer, Coco-Glucoside, Glyceryl Oleate, Phytokeratin, Simmondsia chinesis (Jojoba) oil, Peppermint (Menthapiperita) oil, Spearmint (Menta spicata) Oil, Wild Mint (Mentha arvensis) Oil, Bergamot Mint (Menta citrate) Oil, Eucalyptus Mint (Eucalyptus polybractea) Oil.
* If you're concerned about any of the ingredients, I looked each one up on the EWG website. All of the non-essential oil ingredients were ranked with a "1" in the Skin Deep Cosmetics Guide. Some of them had "limited" or "none" in the data section. I didn't look up the essential oils because I'm assuming you know about the benefits/concerns of EOs if you are wanting to know about specific ingredients. ;)
I'm really picky with the ingredients I put on myself, on my children, or in my house. I actually make almost all of my own soaps, cleaners, and lotions myself. Anyone who has ventured into making products themselves knows that shampoo and conditioner are a hard transition. None of these ingredients gave me reason to be concerned. I would have no problem using them on my children, but I don't know the concentration of certain essential oils, so I don't use this on them.
3. Scent: I am crazy picky about smells and I avoid products that have "fragrance" on the ingredients list. For Maple Holistics to use only essential oils to scent this set, I'm thoroughly impressed!! This smells A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.!!! It smells like mint candies! (YUM!)
4. Quality: As previously mentioned, I have really long hair and it tends to be on the dry side. This is silky smooth. For real. You will probably be surprised how silky your hair feels afterwards. I also have NOT noticed my hair having build up like some shampoos/conditioners tend to feel.
My overall opinion (if you care to know) is that I DEFINITELY recommend this!
