I used this product today and want to share my experience, and it was quite an experience. For most of us, trying a new hair color can be quite daunting. I chose a L'oreal product because I have used them for many years and always got compliments. I chose the toasted coconut 2 step product for several reasons. My natural hair color is medium brown with gray,and I had not used hair color for 2 years. When I put the toasted coconut base color on my hair, I thought I had screwed up my hair. It was darker than I wanted, and it didn't cover all the gray,even though, I followed the recommended time for gray hair coverage. The gray hair wasn't a big concern because I had planned on the highlights intermingling with the gray hair. After about 2 hours, my hair color looked much lighter. I felt optimistic enough to start the highlights process. I felt like I had entered a disaster zone. The finger applicator constantly came off my finger. A few times it got tangled in my hair. I switched to the brush applicator. It was a little better, but it still got tangled in my hair. At no time did I ever have ribbons of blue that L'oreal describes and shows in pictures. I figured that I had really messed up this time. BUT Even with all my incompetencies, my hair color looks like the picture on the box. The moral of this story is that if you like this hair color, go for it. L'oreal in its wisdom has once again saved us from ourselves and idiot-proofed this product for us. I am very happy with the outcome
