I've been using this pressure cooker constantly for years (cooking 2-lb bags of beans at least once a week). I'm perfectly happy with it. However I give it only 4 stars because I had to spend hours trying to find the correct seal to replace my torn one. So be sure to write down the seal number: 09980. The Presto company should create a chart with the model numbers of pressure cookers and the corresponding sealing ring numbers. That would have saved me hours from having to read dozens of random sealing-ring packages to see if it fit my model. Even the manual that comes with the pressure cooker doesn't list which sealing ring to use! Amazon offers a "replacement sealing ring" on the pressure cooker's product page, but it's the wrong size! I should know, mine arrived this afternoon in the mail. However tonight I have at long last finally found the right seal and want to announce it to the world: this Presto 8-quart stainless steel pressure cooker uses sealing ring #09980.
