The first thing that hit me, upon opening the package was the smell of leather. It was glorious! (Sorry, PETA) It's so well made, down to the last stitch; the decorative stone is securely placed. I'm a writer, so I searched everywhere for 2 weeks, trying to find the perfect, refillable journal. When I'm writing for profit, I use a computer, but when I'm writing for myself, nothing beats a trusty journal that stays with you wherever you go. I have severe Rheumatoid Arthritis, so my hands turn into bananas, at will. I'm really glad this journal is both easy to hold and write in, on both sides of the paper. Plus, I suspect it'll get even better with use. The paper refills are easy to find right here on Amazon, and you can get blank, kraft, lined, or my favorite, dotted. It comes with a personal note from the seller, which added a nice personal touch; people who still like actual journals will likely understand this better than full on-techies. This would make a great, reasonably priced, gift for almost anyone for any occasion. I highly recommend this.
