Go ahead and giggle - we love this thing!
My almost 25lb Boston Terrier fits perfectly in here. Very easy to set up, use and fold up for storage. Great maneuverability - front wheels go all directions and great on all terrain. I live in the desert so most offroad terrain is pretty rocky and uneven (we seem to do this often). My dog is mostly blind in the one eye she has (will be having surgery soon - another reason we got this) so this has really helped her be able to enjoy still being with us and feel safe. When we first got it, we set it up inside the house and kept it out for a day as she and our other dog got used to it being around it. Then slowly eased her into sitting in it while giving her treats then pushing her around the house in it. The first time out we went to a community parade where I had to walk miles with her on a warm day. She sat comfortably in it and loved being able to be safe around large crowds through all the loudness of the parade, plus a great place for her to lay down. Also I could put her in the stroller when we had to quickly cross busy roads - she's a bit slower plus being blind makes her a bit wary. Also helped to carry water bottles and my stuff. I also brought her to a pet expo with busy crowds including all types of pets and she felt safe away from the bigger animals and big human feet. The ventilation is also good which is very important in the warm AZ climate. The screen lock was simple once I figured out how to work it (hint - there is also a clasp on the bottom of the seat that should lock in place) :-). Things I wish this had: - more seat padding, though using my own washable padding (a towel or pillow) has its positives - more robust wheels, they are only plastic afterall (I know, I could pay more...) - a clip on the inside to hook a short leash to: often I would leave her in there with the cover open but was always worried she would get up and jump out, I'm trying to figure a way to add one to it on my own - carrying case/cover for storage or at least a strap: for when you want to carry the stroller somewhere and not have it open up on you and/or more secure fold lock - a hook to hook my dog to the stroller when she's walking outside of the stroller but I still have to push the thing - more accessories (are there?) - I would love to be able to switch out the wheels, add a water bowl that attaches to it on the outside so we can stop for water breaks, decorations, etc. I love this thing and don't feel I need to explain any more when people wonder how lazy my dog is that I need a stroller (which I did the first time I took her in it and people would stare and giggle)! My husband rolled his eyes when I bought it but guess who fell in love with it and ended up taking over pushing responsibility?! We are all happier now that we don't have to leave her home just because we're worried about her safety or that she can't keep up, and we have more time out of the house together as a family.
