It really does work!
I bought this alarm for my 11 year old son who had never had a dry night in his life. We had tried everything, limiting drinks, having him go before bed plus waking him during the night, we even went to see a specialist to make sure it wasn't something medical and we tried medication which did not work even with the highest dose. I had tried an alarm a few years ago but it did not work well, by the time it sensed the urine and woke my son up he was already soaked. I finally decided to try an alarm again as my son will be 12 soon and he is very bothered by having to wear a pull up to bed every night. I found this alarm and I liked how the sensor is a good size (not too big but not so small that you'd be lucky if it senses anything). I think the main issue with the old alarm we bought was the sensor was too small so by the time the urine hit it and made it go off it was too late. I thought the alarm was a little expensive however I was willing to try anything and this was our last option....it turned out to be well worth the price. We've been using the alarm now for 5 1/2 weeks. I was fully prepared for this to take months as they say it can and since my son was an every night wetter I was sure it would take a long time. I am happy to say that he has been completely dry for the last 8 days in a row. The instructions state that after 14 days dry you can try going without the alarm so we plan to wait until 14 days have passed but things are looking great! When we first got the alarm I slept in his room for the first 3 nights. I thought I would be in there longer but the alarm is SO easy to use my son can do everything himself. Also the alarm wakes him up so quickly that he litterally only ends up with a quarter size wet spot on his underpants and then he finishes in the toilet. In fact I had also purchased a few pads to go over his sheets so I wouldn't have to change his sheets if he wet too much and I haven't even needed to change one yet (except for normal bedding washes)...the alarm wakes him up before it gets to that point. My son is able to put the alarm on by himself and when he has to go during the night (he's been waking on his own to go lately) he just unplugs it, goes, then plugs it back in. The one thing about the alarm that I didn't like at first was that the sensor has no clip or anything so you need to tape it to the outside of the underpants (you can't put it inside the unerpants because it is so sensitive that even sweat could set it off. I found the perfect size bandaid though that works great it's made by "CareOne" and it's "clear waterproof bandages with super-stick adhesive" They stick really well and keep the sensor in place all night. The padded part of he bandaid fits right over the sensor perfectly and the sticky part to the underpants. The alarm has different tones you can use which is nice because if your child gets too used to one tone and it doesn't wake them anymore then you can change the tone to a new one although we never had this problem he still wakes to the same tone. It also has options for you to use tone or just vibrate or both together. I would totally recommend this alarm if you have a child who wets the bed and you want to help them get dry at night. Mine also came with an extra sensor which is nice to have a backup just in case but we haven't needed yet.
