The QY8 earphones arrived in a rather nice brown box. They're stylish, in black with silver detail with a thin black cord connecting the two earphones. As these use Bluetooth, there's no cord connecting them to your phone, table or computer. The box contains: - The earphones - A USB cable for charging - Replacement ear tips (a total of 6 are provided in three different sizes) - Replacement ear hooks (6 provided in three sizes) - Small instruction booklet Setup is quick and easy, as with most Bluetooth products. Once the earphones were charged, I powered them on and they entered pairing mode. I found the earphones listed on my phone (an iPhone 6) and the two devices were then paired. If you wearing the earphones while pairing them you'll hear voice prompts throughout, which is a nice touch. These are designed for use when taking part in sports and to this end come with a rather nice soft plastic hook to help them stay put in your ears. It was a little tricky for me to actually figure out how it works, but once I did it worked well. The fit in my ears was also good, but I'm someone who doesn't mind in-ear earphones. Two sets of replacement tips (ie three sets in total) are provided for those with larger/smaller ears. I used these during a number of workouts and a few runs and they never fell out of my ears. They were very comfortable throughout and I hardly even noticed that they were there. Sound quality was good. I find that in-ear earphones cannot compete with a pair of on-ear headphones, but these quite impressed me. Sound was good, across a wide selection of music, from classical to hard rock. Bass was at times a little jarring but that comes down to personal taste and is a minor complaint. In addition to being earphones, the QY8s can be used as a hands-free kit. They have a microphone and allow you to make and receive calls with them. When you receive a call the number is spoken, which is a nice feature (unfortunately the contact name isn't spoken). Audio quality from the microphone is good. One nice feature is that they can be paired with two mobile phones simultaneously. Ideal if you carry a work and personal phone with you - you can answer calls on either device using these earphones. Something I did find less than ideal was the charging port. It's covered by a small flap and I struggled to open it. I can understand that the flap needs to be there to keep the USB port dust and grime free but it really was quite tricky to open and each time I opened it I was afraid I was going to pull it off. They're comfortable, ideal for exercising and the sound quality is good. The hands-free functionality works well. Highly recommended at this price point.
