Here is a question for the masses : WHY don't the cat food companies make ALL cat food in such a way as to prevent Feline Urological Syndrome (FUS) ? I'm serious! Why must consumer's and cat owners have to KNOW that MOST cat foods are formulated in such a way that they can CAUSE FUS!!?? Shouldn't it be the responsibility of the cat food manufacturer's to make sure that your pet does not get CRYSTALS forming in their urine (caused by too much Magnesium) that BLOCK the urinary tract and can ultimately KILL your cat? All this because the food is MADE with too much Magnesium (Otherwise known as "ASH")?! NINE LIVES GETS IT. They have created an affordable and healthy food for cats (that they seem to love by the way) with considerably lower amounts of Magnesium. And although in the past, I know that some manufacturer's have had Urinary Tract Health formulas in their product line, I am currently unaware of any but Nine Lives that has a solution to this issue. Even the manufacturer's of the ridiculously expensive foods like IAMS and Eukanuba, etc don't seem to get that this is a VERY REAL problem. Male cats are more susceptible than females, but they are ALL AT RISK WITH EACH AND EVERY KIBBLE OR SPOONFUL. It should be against the law to continue making ANY food that CAUSES FUS in our pets. Thank you, Nine Lives, for being there and understanding that even we folks that can't pay absurd amounts of money still want our pets to be healthy.
