These are better than the more expensive electronic traps
I was skeptical about how well these traps would work at first as the mice were avoiding the much more expensive electronic traps we had purchased. My skepticism was overturned the first night we placed these traps by the mouse runs. We caught one mouse the first night and another mouse the second night. So far we haven’t been able to find evidence of additional mice.
A few things we learned:
1. Use sugar based peanut butter as bait, mice love it and it seems to work better than the organic stuff.
2. Don’t use a lot of bait. A tiny amount of bait at the very end with a light smear down the middle for the mouse to follow is all you need. Too much bait may lead to the mouse being able to recover rather than fall in the trap.
3. Find the place where the mice run. The closer you can place the traps to the mice the more likely you are to get a catch.
4. Tape the traps to the side of the bucket. This removes a little wiggle in the trap that makes mice more cautious. You want the trap to feel solid until it drops.
I also have to compliment the creators of these traps. They include their contact info in every trap and they respond to issues quickly. I had a few questions regarding the traps and they got back to me the next day.
Thrilled with the results, thrilled with the support.
