Excellent Computer For the Average User
One of the most compelling reasons for purchasing a computer was the eventual expiration of my ten year old HP laptop. I knew my needs had changed dramatically from needing a lightning fast multi-purpose computer during my working years to a far less demanding need now that I was retired. However, I also knew that computing speed, a vibrant and sharp color display, and a large memory capacity remained needs and not wants. After much research I settled on this Dell 15.6 inch, a down-size from my previous 17+ inch screen. I'd also never had a touchscreen computer or one with backlit keys, functions that I thought would be simply extraneous but which turned out to be highly desirable functions. The display is sharp with deep colors and clearly defined edges, better than the Dell 22 inch monitor I also purchased at the same time. I've watched several movies already as well as used Microsoft Office-(not the trial version that's included but one I had purchased previously). The computing speed in loading various pages is lightning fast and well capable of handling my requests. The Windows 10 version is mostly intuitive and is a welcome step-up from previous versions. This computer also features face recognition software that allows you to bypass having to remember passwords although I'm not sure having my initial picture taken fresh out of bed was a good idea. Sometimes it doesn't recognize me but then I don't either. I highly recommend this for the student or professional who needs a sturdy, responsive machine. I don't recommend this for gamers but for those of us who consider Solitaire the pinnacle of our gaming needs, then by all means, snatch this one up. Price is very reasonable for what you get.
