This unit was delivered today. I bought it to replace a 20+ year old unit that would not bake without every pizzelle sticking. I read many reviews about the non stick models not baking as crisp as the shiny plate models, but I took a chance. When I got home from work, i opened the box, removed the unit and packed my old one in the same box (it was the same unit minus the non stick plates, but with a different name on it). I mixed up my first batch of batter, and off I went. 2 batches later (1 vanilla, 1 chocolate) and not 1 stuck to the plates. They were crispy and perfect (I found that 35 seconds gave perfect brownness and crispyness). 1 wipe with a paper towel and it was clean and ready for next time. I am so glad that i opted for this model. I have been making pizzelle for almost 45 years and this unit has produced the best ones ever.
