I am a total fusspot and I LOVE this vacuum!
I am the person who uses something and asks "WHO engineered this? Didn't they ever TEST it?" So the fact that I love this vacuum is noteworthy. It is replacing an old ($700) Dyson that had finally become worthless. Now I live in a tiny place (an overstatement for sure) and was looking into the Dyson stick vacuums. After reading the negative reviews, I started looking for other brands. This one had good reviews, so I did more research before buying. I'm glad I did & I'm happy to have it.
When I saw how it was packaged, I immediately thought how well engineered the packaging is ~ let's see if the item is, too. It assembled in seconds and indeed weighs less than expected. And it's pretty. I gave it 3 hours to charge per the instructions (the only instruction I've read to date, by the way.) When it is charging, there are lights that stay lit and blink, so you know it's charging. They all go off when fully charged. First full charge took less than the 3 suggested hours.
This powerful little vacuum takes all the work out of vacuuming. All the weight is in your hand, and it is easy to maneuver. You can depress the trigger for short blasts or flip the clip that keeps it on. (You can use the clip alone as your on/off switch - a sign of thoughtful engineering.) The powerhead swivels and easily slides under minimal-clearance furniture. The regular suction level picks up everything effortlessly and the MAX power level is impressive. I have not run the battery all the way down to empty yet, so I cannot tell you how long it will run between charges.
I have allergies and asthma so filtration was a big deciding factor in choosing this unit, and again, it did not disappoint. There is ZERO dust kick-back while in use (even when I vacuumed up dropped baby powder) and the dust bin empties easily. It completely disassembles for easy cleaning and I literally rinse every part of the bin and filters daily after use. The HEPA is also easily accessible and rinsable. If you do rinse the filters regularly, I recommend wrapping the little filter in a towel after rinsing, and giving it a little squeeze to get the excess water out before leaving it to air-dry. Mine dries overnight when I do this. Being able to keep the vacuum itself clean is important in managing my respiratory health, so I love this feature. It's like having a new vacuum every day.
Attachments slide or click on and off with ease, and again, are all well-engineered for actual use. The small powerhead attachment has a swiveling shroud that insures proper contact when pushing AND pulling it over a surface. The small brush attachment has a click button that reveals the upholstery/lint/hair attachment hiding under the brush cover. The carpet powerhead has a little coin-screw open that allows removal of the roller for easy cleaning (I have long hair, so this is an important feature for me) and it allows access to wipe the inside clean too. EVERYTHING is engineered so that you cannot re-assemble anything the wrong way (Gotta love these engineers!!)
The little parking station is cute and fairly efficient, although it has a couple shortcomings. 1- It has no dock for the mini power brush (I keep mine on the concentrator nozzle - see photo.) 2- The width goes from a compact 6" (by itself) to 13.25" when the floor powerhead is docked. For normal living space this shouldn't be a big deal, but I have 2 closets that measure 4'x2' each, so I don't have the floorspace for this. A wall mount would have been nice, and I will devise some way to do that, but for now see photo for how I store it.
So overall, no deal-breaker complaints. I am keeping & loving it. My only concessions are: 1- No wall mount. 2- No power charger that the unit clips into. (The charger wire needs to be manually plugged in.) 3- The charger and its wire should have been white (not only to match the unit, but more importantly, to match the wall. As a professional fusspot, I will be spray painting and tacking this in place sometime soon.) And 3- I wish it vented straight up rather than out of the sides. When using the hand-held at face level, it vents right into my face. Fortunately, the air is cool and the filtration is fabulous so this does not trigger an asthma attack.
Overall, I highly recommend this great little vacuum and BRAVO engineers, for a job well done!
