Outstanding storage solution!
1st, about me. I'm a simple highschool diploma recipient and an "uneducated" jar head grunt. This needs to be said to emphasize the ease of this installation. Not to insult anyone who had trouble, but maybe you shouldn't be installing anything. Ever. Instructions: I don't know how good they are. I just looked at the picture on the front, counted the holes and hardware, did some simple math, and went at it. It's really all that's needed. Seriously. Arrival condition: packed very well and all parts are separated accordingly. It's easy to take inventory if counting is something you can do with little supervision. There were 0 defects that would effect the integrity of the structure. I didn't look for small scratches because I don't care at all and neither do the boxes I'm storing. Capacity: I filled it up with boxes full of average storable material such as clothing, decorations, blankets, 2 Christmas trees, and other random items you only need seasonally. It didn't even blink any eye at it. 12 totes (2 being long tree totes) Access is simple if you have a ladder and decent balance (which you clearly need in addition to standard tools for installation) Tools and skills required: ladder of appropriate height, drill, tape measure, 3/16" drill bit, pencil, and wrenches provided if you don't have any. I used a 13mm socket on my impact driver and a 13mm wrench to secure the lock nuts. This is not necessary, but simplified it greatly. If you can measure, count, turn your fingers, and use a drill, you're all set. Suggestions: If you can't move the box it came in alone, don't install it alone. It's 68lbs. Put 2 racks together at a time and install them to the braces. Don't do something ridiculous like try to lift and hold the 4'x8' metal cage above your head while on a ladder. If this crossed your mind, put your tools down and ask for help. You probably need it. If you do 2 racks at a time you can easily do it by yourself. Time: 1st, who cares. It will last probably as long as your house so just put in the work. If you're in a hurry and don't have time, pay someone to do it for you. If you do care, it took me just a little over 2 hours from moving the box from the porch to finishing this review. I don't get paid for reviews and left this one because I feel this product is outstanding and has been degraded by a few people who are just simply incapable of such work. We're all made for different things and that's ok. Just know who you are and what you're made of before leaving poor reviews. Enjoy and be safe!
