I’ve had this for 6 months and have 2 Great Danes. I got it because one of my Great Danes was getting very frequent UTIs from not drinking enough water. Tips: the Mr Clean type sponges make cleaning (getting all the drool slime off) much easier - If it gets noisey adding water or cleaning it will really help decrease the noise level - You really do need to replace the carbon filters and sponge when they get gross/smell so your dog will continue to drink out of it PROS: My dog is drinking SO much more water! Suicide by UTI since we purchased it (she has a bad time on a lot of antibiotics) - I am no longer woken up at night my by Great Dane that has a growling, barking meltdown if she finds ice or drool floating in her water bowl (she really was protecting us all from the vicious slobber coming to kill us) - My Great Danes are not afraid of it (unlike another non-PetSafe metal one we tried) - Once you get the hang of it reassembly isn’t that hard - Dishwasher safe (non motor parts) - Deep well helps reduce water spillage as the dogs drink - Stable Cons: The dogs can only drink about 1 gallon before it needs to be refilled because of how the motor runs/it is designed - I wish it was quieter - I wish it was self cleaning, could teach my dogs not to get slobber on the ceilings, and pick up the dog poop in my back yard
