We have clay to plant in....I don't even qualify it as soil. So much going wrong. I learned a new word...chlorosis...decided we needed a meter to see just what we're dealing with. Wherever I pushed it into the ground the pH meter didn't even wiggle away from the alkaline end. Water meter changed in different pokey-holes. So I figured at least that worked. But, I tried the pH again in my huge hanging baskets and it was smack dab in the middle. The lovely lil meter has "told" me I've bitten off more than I can chew...ugh. 68 yrs old. New lil' cottage...with really yucky brown stuff that is a poor imitation of dirt. I swear we're sitting on an ancient civilization here in W Texas....and we've inherited the parking lot! But. The meter does all it's supposed to do.
