I bought my first Bug-a-salt (version 1.0) about 4 years ago and the thing was great. It lasted about a year and a half with heavy use before a gear stripped out. I then purchased the 2.0 and noticed a definite increase in the power. I live near a dairy farm and the flies can get pretty thick at times so I probably put these things through more use than the average customer. I got well over two years out of the 2.0 which I consider excellent durability. While researching what may be the issue with my 2.0 I found out that I should not be leaving it cocked for long periods of time and especially in the heat. I left it cocked at all times in my garage without air conditioning which reaches upwards of 120 degrees in the Arizona summer. So even under the worst conditions it lasted a very long time. Now I've got the 3.0 and it's even better than the 2.0. It's even more powerful and everything feels very tight and well made for something that is plastic. It's got much better aim sights and the salt grouping is tighter. I am extremely pleased with my purchase! As for shipping the order came in earlier than the estimated date and I couldn't be happier. Buy one and you won't regret it!
