I thought this would fit my wooden stand which has a 7.5" opening for her regular stainless bowls. There is not a lot of lip on the edge of the Durapet Slow Feed bowl- so it does not hang right in the stand with 7.5" opening. I'm going to try setting the new bowl inside of the old bowl...and see how that works. I'll get back to you! The quality of the bowl is great! I put the Durapet bowl inside of the bowl that fits my stand, and it worked great! Because of the rubber bottom, it didn't spin around inside of the old bowl. I've attached a video that shows how it worked for my dog. It made her take smaller bites, therefore slowed down her dinner time. I'm guessing it took her twice as long to eat... so now one minute instead of 30 seconds. :)
