Having been "damaged goods" for most of my adult life, I've been through plenty of lumbar back braces. This one is by far the best one I've found for the money! The problem with so many braces is the "roll over" problem, where the top and bottom edges tend to roll forward and diminish the amount of support. The Modvel has a great design, so that it remains flat and rigid all the way around and keeps your back straight and well supported. I'm going to buy another one right away--you can't have too many back braces, especially when you've found one this good! One small concern that went away quickly--when you first open the package, you may notice a light "industrial smell" --the kind you get from some of the tools made in China. I hung my new brace outside in the fresh air for a day and that took care of it. And it is washable, too, so this should not be a problem for anyone.
