Experienced sudden joint pain and swelling between the Thumb & Wrist, tried the standard ice bag, but couldn't move around and it was a little messy. Read the review on this, and Viola!! The cold lasts just long enough, and I can still be mobile without a bulky ice pack taped to my hand. It may not be perfect for everyone but it was definitely perfect for my needs. Easy to put on, the cold pack if flexible, it fits around that odd area, and when it gets to room temp. I just toss it in the freezer. Glad I purchased.. and yes I am going to doc.
