Surprise, surprise, the cats love it ;]
FYI, i purchased the 8ft round rug.
Omg, this thing rug is so interesting, a rainbow of colors but with the neutral jute to keep it from being to to much <3 I had a completely different rug picked out for my living room then i saw this and had to have it! Now i have to change my design plans completely….. ^^;
Its not as thick as i was expecting, probably about a ¼ in. Wish it was a little thicker but what you gonna do, ya?
The construction is fairly standard for braided rag rugs. Braided strips sewn together with a zig zag stitch along the edges. Mine is made with red thread which is quite visible, even from a few feet away.
A few of the fabric joins are not so pretty. The ends of the piece are just laying on top of the rug rather than being worked in for less visibility. Honestly, if i was more of a perfectionist i would probably set about tucking them in myself… but im not! :D They add character! (Thats my story and im sticking to it!)
Also, there are a few places where theres alot of extra stitching for whatever reason.
IF YOU HAVE CATS! Plz know they WILL scratch on this :p i mean, how could they resist! Whenever they do it pulls up little mounds in the rug. These are easily smoothed back down with no effort.
The edge of the rug was a bit wobbly from being on the roll for shipping. Given that this rug is 100% NOT synthetic i felt absolutely no guilt ironing it flat for instant gratification rather than setting heavy shit on it for a few days. Threw down a few layered towels to protect the hardwood floor(im a horrible person…) and set my steam iron to cotton. Both the floor and the rug survived! HURRAH!
Honestly, not sure how well this is gonna hold up, what with the cats and all, but its super cute so i like it :]
Will update this in a few months to let y'all know how its holding up to the cats.

I swear, i've tried to update this review twice already. For some reason it's just not posting. Whateves, trying again.
It's held up just fine. It's gets vacuumed regularly(canister vac, no beater), the cats still adore it, a multitude of things have been spilled on it, I host parties on it, weekly DnD on it(involves swapping the coffee table and dining table, plus chairs), it's been dragged to the driveway and hosed, draped over cars to dry. I'v done nothing to spare it from the ravages of a highly active space and it's taken it like a champ. A fair few more fly aways in the jute sections but that was to be expected. Just like when you braid your hair, the shorter strands will work their way out as time goes on. I could take a pair of clippers to it and fix that right up.... but that's more effort than i'm willing to put in to something that doesn't bother me. If this edit actually posts then i'll try to add some new pics.
PSA!!! Puke blends in beautifully with this rug lol. I've had the unfortunate pleasure of discovering that out the hard way, with my foot.
