Revenge Vacuum!
***2022 edit***
My ex’s Dyson bit the dust a long time ago! My B&D is still doing a great job with only a one time filter replacement. It’s a winner!!
I bought a Dyson 10 years ago, and it is still going strong. My (nearly) ex-husband moved to an apartment with carpet, and asked to borrow the vacuum saying, "If you need it, I'll bring it back." Right. Even though I have terrazzo and a broom does the trick, I also have rugs, and I still needed a vacuum. But who wants to argue?
I looked up Dysons, because after all, they are THE BEST, allegedly. But they're also $300. If you're getting divorced, you certainly don't want to drop that kind of money on a vacuum cleaner, especially when you bought the last one. No, I'm not actually bitter. I just hope you are finding this amusing. ;)
Anyway, I did a little web search for "best inexpensive vacuums" and I found this one. It was also on sale when I bought it. Even though I don't have Prime, it arrived the VERY NEXT DAY.
I was pleased to find that this vacuum sucks way better than the 10 year old Dyson. If your marriage sucks, that's BAD; but if your vacuum sucks, that's GOOD. In fact, the B&D Airswivel was so powerful, I never had to pass over the same area twice, and it was especially good on my hard floors. It actually operates very similarly to the Dyson I no longer have custody of, and is very easy to operate and maintain.
All things change over time. This vacuum may not last as long as the Dyson did, but like marriages, quality is more important than length. Yes, my vacuum outlasted my marriage. But I've moved on with a new vacuum, and I'm making the best of it. I might even be better off.
